Government and Leadership Development

In September 2023, at the first US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Hispanic Health Summit, HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra announced the memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National Hispanic Health Foundation. The MOU included partnership activities to increase Hispanic applicants to HHS civil service positions and nominations to high-level advisory committees.

NHHF has successfully nominated Hispanic Physicians and other health experts who have been selected for special government employee service as members of The Council on Graduate Medical Education, the National Advisory Committee on Rural Health and Human Services, the NIH NIDDK Advisory Committee, and the Advisory Committee on Training in Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry.  We have also sent names in for the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunizations Practices and other committees.

If you are interested in being nominated by NHHF to HHS advisory committees, send your cover letter and resume to Dr. Elena Rios at [email protected].
